At what age?

                             First consultation

Around age 7, most children have a mix of baby and permanent teeth. A consultation at this time allows early detection of dental problems (congestion, a missing permanent tooth, premature loss of baby teeth, etc.) or problems with jaw growth. This consultation can also help motivate your child to give up potentially deforming habits such as thumb sucking, breathing through the mouth or poor swallowing. If necessary, we will initiate a first treatment phase. Otherwise, we will schedule checkups every 6-9 months to monitor the development of permanent teeth as well as facial growth.

Teenagers

Most of our treatments begin between the ages of 9 and 13. This is the best time to fit appliances because children are still growing but permanent teeth have come in or are developing.

Adults

It's possible to move teeth at any age--even in adults. "Cosmetic" braces are nearly invisible and provide an unobtrusive option for orthodontic treatment.
